Re-Election Announcement

I’d like to take this opportunity to announce that on Saturday, the 9th of May, I will declare my bid for re-election to the 1st District At-Large position, on the Jackson County Legislature.

Four years ago, I campaigned on a promise to serve the public with integrity, to work hard every day improving the quality of life for our county residents, and to be in the community on a regular basis.

I have worked toward achieving those promises by striving to conduct and oversee an open, transparent government for and by all Jackson Countians. As a countywide-elected official, my office regularly attends numerous community events and addresses churches, schools, and community and business groups. The importance of being in the community on a routine basis helps to ensure that I remain aware of the issues important to you.

I believe that I have followed through on those promises but there is still much to be done. Another term will allow me to continue to bring about improvements to our quality of life and to continue to raise awareness on what county government does on your behalf. It’s essential that Jackson County continue to provide and improve basic services to a growing and changing community.

While stabilizing the county’s budget is essential to our success, as a County Legislator, there are numerous other items that I am involved in. Making sure that our effort in economic diversification continues to move forward, addressing ethics reform and increasing transparency, working with the criminal justice system on public safety and recidivism rates, working with the educational community on long-term goals, and continuing my efforts against domestic violence are just a few of the other activities I am actively involved in.

Jackson County faces several challenges in the years ahead and I want to continue to provide the citizens of Jackson County with positive, progressive leadership that represents their needs during these challenging financial times.

I ask that you consider allowing me to continue to work diligently to represent each of you and your families, to the best of my ability, as the Jackson County Legislator for the 1st District At-Large.
